Mariah Cook

Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach
Biography

Mariah Cook joined the University of Iowa Olympic strength & conditioning staff in July 2025. She is responsible for Women’s Soccer, Women’s Tennis, Women’s Golf, and Cross Country.

Cook was previously an Assistant Director of Athletic Performance at the University of Missouri, where she worked directly with Cross Country, Distance, and Middle-Distance track groups while assisting with Volleyball, Women’s Basketball, Gymnastics, and Softball.

Prior to Mizzou, she served as an Assistant Athletic Performance Coach at Illinois State University, where she had previously been a graduate assistant, and earned a master's degree in Exercise Physiology. During her time at ISU, she directed training for Women’s Soccer, Women's Tennis, Women’s Swimming & Diving, and the Track & Field Jumps, Throws, and Multis groups. Additionally, Cook assisted with the training of the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams and Volleyball.

Prior to ISU, Cook completed an internship at North Dakota State University where she worked with the Women's Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, and Track & Field programs.

Cook earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training at Saginaw Valley State University, where she was a four-year women’s basketball team member.

The Michigan native is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), is a Precision Nutrition Level I Coach (PN-1), Motor Preferences Trained Level 1 (Motor Preference™ Experts), a Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and is CPR/AED/First Aid certified.
