The entire Athletic Performance staff is excited to get back from Christmas break and hit the ground running. Leo Liu is the newest addition to the staff and we are excited to have him on the team. Leo comes to Iowa from Washington University in St. Louis. He will be responsible for training the rowing and track and field teams. We would also like to welcome our spring interns Colleen Jackson, Colton Smith, Jonathan Berry, Kynzi Pate, Nick Davenport, and Tray Rompa. Go Hawks.

Summer has flown by but we are excited to get student-athletes on campus and get back to work. We would like to welcome the new fall interns Haylee Puhrmann, Victoria Carter, Joe Gassen, and Jalen Wieck. We look forward to seeing their professional growth over the fall semester. Go Hawks!

Congratulations to Mariah Cook who was recently hired as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. he is responsible for Women’s Soccer, Women’s Tennis, Women’s Golf, and Cross Country. Cook was previously an Assistant Director of Athletic Performance at the University of Missouri, where she worked directly with Cross Country, Distance, and Middle-Distance track groups while assisting with Volleyball, Women’s Basketball, Gymnastics, and Softball. We are very excited to have Mariah on the staff! Go Hawks!

We are excited to announce the hiring of Logan Ogden as the new Director of Men's Basketball Performance. Ogden brings 14 years of experience with him to Iowa City, including the past four seasons as the director of strength and conditioning at Utah (2021-25), where he provided year-round comprehensive training for the Utes’ men’s basketball program. Welcome aboard. Go Hawks!

May concludes another successful school year for the staff and student-athletes. We will greatly miss the seniors that will be graduating. Many on the staff gained valuable knowledge from attending the CSCCa conference. Congratulations to our Director Lindsay and her husband Todd, on the birth of their new baby girl, Maren Joy Alexander! Go Hawks!

Congratulations to all the winter sports on their outstanding seasons. Big shoutout to Stephen Buchanan on winning a national title for the men's wrestling team at 197 lbs. Interns continue to gain valuable knowledge through hands on exercise progressions. Go Hawks!

February went quick and the staff was productive. We began our intern curriculum and continue our own professional development. Good luck to winter sports finishing their seasons, Go Hawks!

The spring semester has begun and the staff is excited to get back to work after Christmas break. We would like to welcome Brian Oberman, Justine Beruazeau, Brandon Cline, Isaac Holden, and Victoria Carter who will be interning for the semester. It is with great excitement to announce that Lindsay Alexander has been hired as the new Director of Athletic Performance. Lindsay has been the Associate Strength and Conditioning Coach and Special Assistant to the SWA for Iowa Athletics since 2018 and had over 15 years of related strength and conditioning experience. We hope everyone has a great holiday season and can spend valuable time with friends and family. Go Hawks!
